He is survived by: his children, Herbert Lee Maddux (H. L. "Hub") and Elizabeth Collier Maddux; his close friend Terri; his wife Terri Stelly Maddux; his daughters, Sonya Pence (Bert) of Austin, Mary Maddux (Ginny Martin) of Dallas, Kathy Maddux of Albuquerque, Melany Adler of Durango, Sharon Maddux of Crystal Beach and Tracey Maddux of Fort Collins; his grandchildren, Dana Smith (Amanda), Bella Maddux Martin, Arthur Moller (Jennifer), Jennifer Marino (Jeffery), Sarah Hartman (Matt), Pamela Adler (James), Cullen Cannon and Sadie Gorbett; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Colton of Joelle, A. V, Henry, Hopper, Benjamin and Corey; and his caregivers, Adela Valencia, Delmis Moreira, Maude Marshall and Novella Foster.
