He was predeceased by : his daughter Jessica Marina Avila; his parents, Aurelio Avila and Eulojia Avila; and his siblings, Jose, Gilbert Avila and Matilde Ramirez.

He is survived by : his children, Belinda Avila, Javier Avila and Amanda Avila; his grandchildren, Javier "Jaime" Avila, Jr. (Monica), Olivia Kristin Gutierrez (Aaron), Justin Avila, Randy Lee Avila Parker, Christopher Sanchez (Elizabeth), John Robert Sanchez, Andrew Sanchez and Jonah Avila; his great grandchildren, Arabella Annalise Poland, London Fox Gutierrez, Idris Stone Gutierrez, Javier Jaime "Tres" III, Olivia Rain Sanchez and Unicorn Sky Salinas Parker; and his siblings, Angelina Mora (Chito), Elena Villarreal, Carmen Villarreal, Carlos Avila, Amelia Avila, Ramiro Avila (Lina) and Consuelo Avila. He is also survived by his wife he was her Hero, to his children he was the most wonderful Dad that ever lived and a most beloved grandfather and great-grandfather.

“We love Jesse and his family very much. Jesse will be always be remembered in our hearts. He was a special and great person to us. Jesse and I were very good friends when we were stationed in France in 1958. We extend our condolences to all members of the Avila Family. We ask Our Heavenly Father to grant you peace, strength, and comfort during your time of sorrow. He will be greatly missed and his kindness and caring for people will be treasured forever.
