She was predeceased by : the father of her children Ismael A. Rivas; her son John I. Rivas; her parents, Antonio G. Cantu and Elena Cantu; her siblings, Antonio G. Cantu, Pete Cantu, Armando Cantu and Mary Helen "Nena" Durbin; and her sister-in-law Ana Cantu.

She is survived by : her husband Robert Hasette; her daughters, Belinda Vela (Orlando) and Selina Rivas; and her brothers, Benny Cantu (Pearl) and Juan Jose Cantu (Mary). She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews.
