It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel James Swofford of Pottsboro, Texas, born in Alton, Illinois, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jonathan Melvin Swofford and Mary Louise Hartmann Swofford; and his grandparents, Roy, Beryl Swofford, James M. and Catherine N. Hartmann.

He is survived by : his wife Mona Lisa Swofford; his sons, Jeffrey Allen Swofford, Douglas James Swofford and Matthew Kyle Swofford; his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Swofford, Katelyn Swofford and Nancy Swofford; his siblings, Jonathan Melvin Swofford, Roy Allen Swofford and Cathy Geist; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Swofford, Larketta Swofford and Russell Geist. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
