He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Burkett and Sarah Jane Burkett (Clark); and his wife Bobbie Jane Williams. He is survived by : his daughter Elizabeth "Scooter" Mayfield (Billy) of Quanah; his granddaughters, Marenda Horton (Thomas) of Caldwell and Marcy Mayfield (Bernard Milton); his great grandchildren, Ian Horton (Katelynn) of Lubbock, Grayson Dougherty of Carrollton and Maggie Horton of Caldwell; his brother Otis Ray Burkett (Bobbie) of Burleson, Texas; and his brother-in-law Dee Williams (Myrt) of Eldorado, Texas..

The family suggests memorials be made to Crowell Nursing Center or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
