He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul James Newsom and Evelyn Lantz Newsom; and his brothers, Gary and Randy Newsom. He is survived by : his children, Jamie Orr (David) of Amarillo, Shelby Parr (Grady) of Childress and Steven Newsom of Quanah; and his grandchildren, Connor Parr, Ansley Parr, Charles, Mary Nell Reynolds and Debbie Reynolds Gillespie.

The family suggests memorials be made to Quanah Meals on Wheels, PO Box 492, Quanah, Texas 79252.
