It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Leija of Quanah, Texas, born in Windsor, Colorado, who passed away on September 1, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Abe Perea and Isabel Cordova Perea; her children, Martin "Abe" Leija, III and Marty Sue Leija; and her sister Trudy Perea.
She is survived by : her children, Machelle Leija Perez of Quanah, Mack Leija of North Carolina, Mark Leija of Quanah, Mike Leija of Vernon and Max Leija of Roscoe; and her siblings, Carmen Salazar, Louise Perea, Sarah Perea, Toni Corralez, Frank Perea, Jerry Perea and Larry Perea. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
