He was predeceased by: his parents, Ephriam Curtis "Bill" Mitchell and Arie Lottie Sanner Mitchell; his wife Dorothy Mitchell; and his siblings, Robert Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Elmore Mitchell, Jewell Mitchell Shirley and Jetty Mitchell Tomblinson.
He is survived by: his children, Claud Mitchell, Jr. (Mary) of Red Oak, Cassie Love (Terry) of Breckenridge and Billye Herndon (Rusty) of Austin; and his grandchildren, Gina Mitchell Young (Joe), Janene Mitchell Potter (Steve), Christy Calsoncin (Ronnie), Robin Love Asaff (Craig), Courtney Herndon and Jeff Mitchell (Mesha). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.
