He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wylie Mowery Sr. and Dorothy Elanor Kroll Mowery; his daughter Vanessa Ivy Mowery; and his siblings, John Stephen Mowery and Janda Kay Mowery Copeland.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Risinger Mowery; his daughter Deloise Ann Mowery McClanahan (William Wayne); his grandchildren, Amy and Ashley McClanahan; and his siblings, Joan Marie Mowery Ferguson (Albert Allen) and George Wylie Mowery Jr. (Bennette Janice Dykes). He is also survived by brother in law.
