He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrocio Meraz Nava Sr. and Aura Teran Meraz (Rivera); and his brothers, Israel Meraz, Guillermo Meraz and Compadre Lino Rivera.

He is survived by: his wife Irma Meraz; his children, Julio Meraz Sr. (Yumara), Yazmin Meraz (Vanessa) and Lucy Meraz; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gonzales, Juan Meraz, Priscilla Meraz, Mariah Montoya, Alyssa Montoya, Jaylan Meraz, Marisa Coy, Alexandria Ybarra, Marisol Meraz, Valeria Meraz, Junior Meraz, Mila Meraz and Giselle Meraz; his great grandchildren, Julian Leyva, Ashley Vazquez, Willian Leyva, Sofia Vazquez and Ethan Garcia; and his siblings, Cesar Meraz, Enoscain Meraz, Jorge Meraz Sr., Gelacio Meraz Sr., Concepcion Lopez, Trinida Meraz, Mariano Meraz, Leonel Meraz, Diosemina Meraz, Magdalena Meraz, Virginia Meraz, Catalina Lopez, Isabel Lopez and Julia Meraz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers of flowers the family requests outside plants for the memorial garden that will be located at the residence.
