He was predeceased by : his parents, Ignacio Alafa and Victoria Barrera Alafa; his wife Maria; and his children, Ramon Alafa and Tomasita Alafa.

He is survived by : his children, Raul Alafa, Gloria Alafa, Roberto Alaffa, Rolando Alafa, Ramiro Alafa, Maricela Alafa and Paula Alafa. He is also survived by his 28 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren.
