She was predeceased by: her parents, Eduardo G. Vela and Francisca R. Vela; her husband Dr. Arnulfo S. Martínez; and her siblings, Crisóforo Vela and Ninfa Vela.
She is survived by: her children, Victoria M. Contreras, Arnulfo E. Martínez, Judith Márquez and Ricardo D. Martínez; and her brothers, Eduardo C. Vela (Esther) and Gilbert F. Vela (Beth). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
