It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calvin Julius Hutzler of Rio Medina, Texas, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Adolph Hutzler and Rosa Alma Wengenroth Hutzler; his wife Shirley Hutzler; and his sisters, Vivian Lutz (James) and Johanna Mae Taylor (James).
He is survived by: his children, Trisha Doucette (Louis) and Scott Hutzler; and his grandchildren, Tyler Hutzler (Hilary), Ryan Hutzler, Jackson Hutzler, Koehler Doucette (Sarah) and Benny Doucette. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home (1016 Lorenzo St, Castroville, TX 78009). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Instead of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones, and walk in the outdoors for a few minutes, an hour, or a day.
