He was loved and cherished by many people including : his children, James D. 'Jimmy Lewis (Angela) of Wichita, Kansas, Shelley Stone of Fort Worth, Cathie Jo Vercher and Larry Dale Turnage; his parents, J. C. 'Curly Lewis and Dorothy Isley-Shifflet (Bridwell); and his brother J. C. 'Johnny Lewis III. He was also cherished by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
