He was predeceased by : his parents, Milton Mathews and Ruby Mathews. He is survived by : his wife Thelma; his brother Carl; his children, Bill Jr. (Denice), Marcia Dutschmann, Mary Beth Hupp (Mark), Mark (Karla), Laura Veloz and Amy Mathews-Perez (Roger); his grandchildren, Amanda Castro (German), Paige Sweatt (Jordon), Lindsey Rogers (Joe), Ryan Dutschmann (Elyse), Mark Hupp II, Madison White (Craig), Mitchell Mathews (Dani), Marlee Veloz and Nico Veloz; and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Clark, Penelope Castro, Charlee, Corbin Sweatt, Kylie, Delaney Rogers and Owen Mathews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Waco Memorial Funeral Home (6623 I-35, Robinson, TX 76706). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
