She was predeceased by : her parents, Salvador Fuerte Chavez and Otilia Rangel Chavez (Villasenor); and her sisters, Petra Espinosa, Juvenal Fuerte and Aureliano Fuerte.

She is survived by : her husband Jose Hernandez of Rockwall, TX; her daughter Gricelda Salgado (Oscar) of Fate, TX; her grandsons, Oscar Isaac Salgado and Eli Abraham Salgado; and her siblings, Irma Mejia, Laura Perez and Octavio Fuerte.
