She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmidt and Helen Schmidt (Bridgeman); and her sister Helen Hunton. She is survived by: her husband Larry W. Pennington; her daughters, Kimber Pennington Ritschel (Mercy) and Kristine Pennington Scarborough (Marty); her granddaughter Kandyce Nutt (Preston); her great grandchildren, Scarlett Nutt and Emmitt Scarborough; her stepsiblings, Janet Steetman and Eric Stocker; and her sibling's children, Patricia Bozzo, David Gardner, Steve Gardner and Mark Avery. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grove Hill Funeral Home (3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
