He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin Kirkland and Cleo Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kirksey Kirkland; his children, Karen Kirkland McConnell (Mac) and Thomas Edwin Kirkland (Melinda); his grandchildren, Claire McConnell Litz (Justin), Allison McConnell Monroe (Price), Taylor James Kirkland (Kelsey) and Jordan Kirkland Decker (Glenn); and his great grandchildren, Brady, Jane Kirkland, Willam Litz, Eloise, George Monroe, Joseph and Jeremiah Decker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students.
