She was predeceased by : her parents, Juan Ignacio Cruz and Maria Candelaria Cruz; her husband Bernardo Castillo; and her siblings, Ernesto Cruz Sr. and Maria Cruz-Vasquez.

She is survived by : her sons, Bernardo Jr. (Esther), Juan Carlos (Venessa), Ricardo (Claudia), Enrique and Miguel Angel (Yvette); her grandchildren, Destiny Yvette, Juan Carlos, Isabella, Bernardo Cruz, Natalie Celeste, Emily Samantha, Katherine Lauren and Michael Patrick; her great grandchild Ethan Alexander; and her siblings, Norma DeAnda, Sylvia Garza, Diana Cruz, Santa Morado, Ramon Cruz and Sonia Day.
