He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Raymond and Dora Mae Bailey; his son Michael Raymond; and his sisters, Bonnie and Patsy.

He is survived by : his wife Wanda; his children, Greg (Shelley Bailey), Tony (Teresa Bailey), Rayma (Robert Jordan), Jennie (Ronnie Brock) and Joe (Sheila Bailey); and his daughter-in-law Teresa Bailey of Arlington Texas. He is also survived by eighteen grandkids, lots of great grandkids and great great grandkids.

He was the Executive Director of Dallas Life Foundation for twenty-seven years.
