Maxine Wilburn Pierce Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maxine Wilburn Pierce of Rusk, Texas, who passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Elray Wilburn and Vonnie Wilburn (Reider); her siblings, Myra Beth Wilburn Winder and Clarence Ray Wilburn; her parents-in-law, Cecil and Lyllie Pierce (McMoyle); and her daughter-in-law Nancy Faith Smalley.
She is survived by : her husband Jerry Don "JD" Pierce; her children, Don Terry Pierce, Jerry David Pierce (Carol Sue) and Melissa Basse (Bryan); her grandchildren, Jeremy Don Pierce, Nathan David Pierce, Jarrett Daniel Basse and Cecily Maxine Basse; and her sister Flo Bostick. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many adopted grandchildren who were friends of her biological grandchildren.
Perhaps her favorite activities were hosting a nursing home luncheon each month for years until Covid shut it down and hosting the Prisoners' Visitor Center, which locals call "the little blue house.".
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Mary Hill Davis Easter Offering, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, or to the Prisoners' Visitor Center.
