He was predeceased by : his parents, Melmuth Winfield Harwell and Lura Lee Holcomb Harwell; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Killian, Melmuth Lee, William Thomas Harwell, Robert Eugene Harwell, Haskell Hansford Harwell and Jerry Earnest Harwell.
He is survived by : his wife Betty Compton Harwell; his son Dennis Kirk Harwell (Susan) of Telephone, Texas; his siblings, Elizabeth Jane Wood of Rensselaer, Judy Ann Foglia of Garland, Texas and Jack Benjamin Harwell of Bellville, Texas; and his sister-in-law Nina Compton Underwood of Sachse, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
