She was predeceased by: her parents, Enrique Garza and Brunilda Rodriguez Garza; her spouse Sammy Fernandez; her daughter Lynda Cortez; and her siblings, Yolanda Gatzka, Rachel Zapata, Amelia Garza and Enrique Garza I.
She is survived by: her children, Elsa Waltman (Bill) of Colorado, Debora Tullgren of Nevada, Oralia "Lala" Cortez of Chalmette, Andrea "Deedee" Uyemura (Mark) of California and Andres "Andy" Cortez, Jr. of San Angelo; her sisters, Mary Fernandez of San Angelo, Adelita Morales (Joe) of Abilene, Brune Torres (Richard) of Midland and Leticia Sanchez of San Angelo; and her grandchildren, Brandy, Garrett, Gareth, Mason, Kate, Lynda and Ashley. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Robert Massie Funeral Home (402 Rio Concho Dr, San Angelo, TX 76903). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (1501 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76903).
