Amalia Vara Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 10, 2026, at the age of 73, Amalia Vara of San Antonio, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernestina Villarreal and Juan A. Luna; and her siblings, Dora Brooks and Abel. She is survived by: her husband Jesse Vara; her daughter Alicia Ortiz (Aldolfo); her grandchildren, Desirae, Ashlie (Derrick Lowman), Paul Jr., Kayla and Alexis; her siblings, David, Johnny, Freddy, Patricia, Elizabeth, Eliza and Frank; and her siblings-in-law, Sylvia (Paul) and Arnold (Josie). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
The family requested any monetary donations be made to St. Judes Children Hospital instead of given to the family.
