He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elvira E. Castro; his children, Elvira Ester (Jose Garcia) of Houston, Veronica (Moses Cabello) of Del Rio, Rachel Cedillo of Ft. Worth, Adrian (Elizabeth Castro), Jose Martin (Cristina Castro), Rolando Castro of San Antonio and Arturo Castro, Jr.; his mother Eulalia Aguero; his stepfather Cipriano Aguero; his siblings, Ramiro (Ana Aguero), Oralia Aguero, Alice (Alden Boren) of Kansas, Mary (Earl Kroll) of Del Rio and Olga (Dan Gomez) of Michigan; Patricia of Austin, TX. He was also cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Notwithstanding the accomplishments in which Mr. Castro participated, by far his most significant public action was demonstrating that it is the ordinary people of the community that are the foundation of a truly democratic society.
