With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Daniel Charles Hurney in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on October 5, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hurney and Rozanne Hurney (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Hurney; his sons, Lucas and Marcus; his stepdaughters, Erin De La Cruz and Janna Cozart; and his siblings, Julann, Lisa, Peggy, Tom and Steve. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Holt & Holt Funeral Home (319 E San Antonio Ave, Boerne, TX 78006). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Joseph Honey Creek Catholic Church (25781 TX-46, Spring Branch, TX 78070). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In honor of Dan's love for nature and the outdoors, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Dan's obituary page in his name to support tree planting in his memory.
