She was predeceased by: her birth mother Edelmira Gomez; her parents, David Chapoy and Hope Chapoy; her brother David Chapoy; and her nieces and nephews, Korrie Lyn and Nathan Chapoy.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Mendoza (Kaliki) and Amanda Vargas (Thomas Callinan); her grandchildren, Ethan, Kaidyn Mendoza, Finley and Charlotte Callinan; her former husband George Vargas; her siblings, Elva Rodriguez, Bernice Rivera, Eddie Hernandez (Natasha), Rene Chapoy (Cindy), Leroy Chapoy (Tina), Otto Talley (Cindy), Dennis Chapoy (Deborah) and John Talley; her aunts, Ruth Gomez and Amparo Yvette Briones; and her uncle Leonel Gomez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vada Hagee Chapel at Cornerstone Church (18755 Stone Oak Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78258). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cornerstone Church (18755 Stone Oak Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78258). A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Mission Burial Park North (20900 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257).
