He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Rooney and Eileen Rooney; his siblings, Patricia Cochrane (Rooney), Kathleen Palmer (Rooney) and William "The Gump" Rooney; and his children, Jeffrey "Mac" Rooney and Rhonda Renissa Rooney.
He is survived by: his wife Billie Jean Rooney; his son Bronson Rooney; his grandchildren, Renissa Rooney, Bronson Z. Rooney and Jeremy Rooney; and his great grandchildren, Mario, Aaron, Arya and Jalen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Heritage Oaks Mortuary (2502 S WW White Rd, San Antonio, TX 78222). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
