He was predeceased by: his parents, Librado Buentello and Alejos Buentello (Flores); and his brother Librado Buentello, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Stella C. Buentello; his children, Gilbert, Christa Buentello, Danielle and Christopher Goehring; his granddaughter Rebecca; and his children, Rodney Hutchison, Javier Buentello and Kumi Sato. He is also survived by his two sisters and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels (3401 Cherry Ridge Dr, San Antonio, TX 78230). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. Viewing will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church (1710 Clower, San Antonio, TX 78201). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church on Gilbert's memory.
