He was predeceased by: his parents, Miguel Mata and Juanita Mata; and his siblings, Miguel Mata Jr. Adan Mata, Eva Mata, Homero Mata and Baudelio Mata.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Mata; his children, Jose Mata, Marco Mata (Sandra), Rocio Wolfe (Fernando) and Veronica Marin (Jose); and his siblings, Virginia Mata and Rogelio Mata. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Trevino Funeral Home (2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211). A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
