He is survived by: his wife Julia R. Lopez; his children, Eva Lavers, Patricia Tello (Maurice), Timothy Lopez (Dana), Richard Lopez, Elizabeth Scott (Sid), Rudy Hernandez (Lupe) and Andy Hernandez (Madi); and his sister Mary Lou Gibbard. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
