He was predeceased by: his brothers, Walter Arnold Joki and Robert Harold Joki; and his parents, John Vaino Joki and Sylvia Esther Hyyppa Joki (Partridge). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Yvonne Thomas Joki; his children, Dr. Melvin Thomas Joki, MD and Karen Lynn; his child-in-law Thomas J. Walthall, Jr.; his grandchildren, Thomas Jones Walthall, III (Christine Lee Horvat), Rebecca Marilyn Walthall Benson (Marcus William Benson), Elizabeth Christine Walthall Tavera (Diego Antonio Tavera) and Wesley English Walthall (Veronica Jane Morin); his great grandchildren, Mason Wade Benson, Jette Aurora Walthall, Mary Lynn Benson, Giselle Soleil Tavera, Jones Bird Walthall and Michelle Joy Benson; his niece Liisa Marie Joki Primack; and his caregiver Shirley.
