He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Sierra and Edmundo Sierra; his wife Mercedes L. Sierra; his son Ruben Bert Sierra; and his brothers, Jesse Sierra and Roy Sierra.
He is survived by: his children, Norma Sierra (Mario), James Sierra (Norma) and Maria Moya (John); and his grandchildren, Theresa, Cristian, Madelin, John Jr. and Bianca. He is also survived by his two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Castle Ridge Mortuary West (8008 Military Dr W, San Antonio, TX 78227). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church (7990 Military Dr W, San Antonio, TX 78227). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
