We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2025, at the age of 70, James Bruce Bugg Jr. (San Antonio, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Bugg and Norma Bugg. He is survived by: his wife Alethea; his sons, James Bruce Bugg III (Jim) and Thomas Andrew Bugg (Tom); his sister Diana (Jim Bertlesman) of Sonoma, CA; his cousins, Susie and David Turner of Springfield, MO; and his brothers-in-law, Tod Swann (Laura) of Waco, TX and Andy Swann (Rosemary) of Tyler, TX..
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Tobin Center (100 Auditorium Cir, San Antonio, TX 78205). During the 2020 pandemic, he co-founded Community Labs with Graham Weston and Tullos Wells to provide free Covid testing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed towards: Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, 100 Auditorium Circle, San Antonio, TX 78205.
