He was predeceased by : his parents, James J Mezzetti, Sr. and Emily Cannata; and his brothers, Patrick Mezzetti and Edward Mezzetti. He is survived by : his wife Helen Maxine Cordova Mezzetti; his daughters, Sandra Mezzetti and Barbara Mezzetti; and his granddaughters, Emily McFeron, Julia DeBona-Clark (Tyler) and Gianna DeBona.

A rosary was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel (17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
