With solemn reverence, we commemorate Jo-Ann Kahn (San Antonio, Texas), whose life came to an end on October 25, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Henri D. Kahn; her parents, Joe G. Avelar and Emilia Avelar; her parents-in-law, Henri D. Kahn Sr. and Lilia Sanchez Kahn; her sister Louria Mc Loughlin; her brothers-in-law, George Mc Louhglin and Charles Garza; her grandson Raymundo Salinas III (Trey); and her stepdaughter Vanessa Kahn.
She is survived by: her sister Kathleen Garza; her children, Greg Kahn (Cati) and Claudia Kahn; her stepdaughters, Dora Vardin (Chris) and Zulie Gundermann (Monty); and her grandchildren, Katelyn Kahn, Conner Kahn, Victoria Kahn-Salinas, Lauren Kahn-Lizcano, Ryan Gundermann and Eric Vardin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Laredo. A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel (1410 Jacaman Rd, Laredo, TX 78041). Viewing will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Porter Loring Mortuary (1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212). A prayer will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the San Fernando Cemetery (746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association San Antonio and South Texas Chapter or Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN).
