He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonardo A. Lara Sr. and Maria Luisa Lara. He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Lara; his son Leonardo A. Lara III (Eloisa Lara); his grandsons, Leonardo Lara IV, Caleb Lara and Jeremiah Lara; and his sisters, Leonor Rodriguez (Louis Rodriguez), Melba Barbatto and Maria Luise Lara. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209). Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel (1119 N St Mary's St, San Antonio, TX 78215). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel (1119 N St Marys St, Falfurrias, TX 78355).
