He was predeceased by: his grandmothers, Teofila Garza and Aurora Barrera Sr.; and his father Eluterio Barrera Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Amelia G. Salinas; his siblings, Patricia B. Barrera, Gilbert B. Barrera, Emilia Davila, Abel Ybarra, Ismael Ybarra, Isabel Rodriguez, Gracie Cavazos (Roger), Albert Ybarra, David Ybarra and Flor Ybarra; his stepmother Guadalupe Barrera; his cousins, Olga Garza (Oscar), Celina Trevino (Amado), Irma Pinkley (Bill), Alicia Hinojosa (Alvaro), Carlos Garza (Alma), Gloria Canales (Vic), Ricardo Garza (Ginger), Ruben Garza, Evelina Garza and Elsa Garza; and his close friend Johanna Laso.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 8:00 AM at the Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home (1016 E Gravis Ave, San Diego, TX 78384). A rosary will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
