He was predeceased by: his grandmother Dalia Chapa; his uncle David Everett; and his grandparents, Margarita Perez and Enrique L. Perez. He is survived by: his parents, Leo Perez (Maricela Canales) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Belinda Everett-Lerma (Nestor) of Benavides, Texas; his daughter Hailey Ann Perez of Alice, Texas; his sister Katrina Lynn Perez of Corpus Christi, Texas; his half-sister Sofia L. (Perez); his grandfather Oscar Everett (Sylvia) of Benavides, Texas; and his nephews, Ethan Vasquez and Darren Martinez.
He had a deep passion for riding his Harley-Davidson and often participated in charity rides, including events supporting the homeless and Toys for Tots.
