Vela of San Diego, Texas; his children, Casandra Mata (Alex) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lisa Engelcke (Erik) of Houston, Texas, Noella Vela (Sonia Gomez) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gabby Pastrano (Tyler) of San Diego, Texas, Julia, Einstein Perez (Albert Bear) of Arlington Texas, Roel Vela (Jessica) of Alice, Texas and Baldemar "Tres" Perez of San Diego, Texas; his siblings, Raul Vela Jr. (Toni) of San Diego, Texas, Zulema Vela, Oralia "Lala" Perez (Hector) of San Diego, Texas, Jose Angel Vela (Minnie) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Bibi Casas (Joe Dan) of San Diego, Texas and Emerica Aguilar of San Diego, Texas; his grandchildren, Oscar R. Saenz III, Maddie Sanchez, Jacob De La Garza, Jazel Galvan, Skyler Vela, Jaiden Valerio, Leyah Trevino and Laiden Tyler Pastrano; and his close friends, David Lopez, Jimmy Garcia, Catarino "Cat" Rodriguez, Preston Huey, Rogelio Laso, Gilbert Broquet, Mike Shields and Marvin Smart.
