He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Harris and Ione Harris; his wife Vicki L Giles; and his sister Linda. He is survived by : his brothers, Gary and Greg; his nephews, Raymond and Richard; and his grandchildren, Christine, Stephen, Richard Jr., Joshua, Corbin and Ephraim.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ-University (115 Country Estates Dr, San Marcos, TX 78666). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
