She was predeceased by: her parents, Saragosa Villalpando and Amelia Villalpando; her former husband Marcelino Tovar Sr.; her siblings, Monico, Ruben, Paul Villalpando and Irene Sauceda; her half-sisters, Paula Arredondo, Cruz Torres, Eva Palomares and Magdalena Garcia; and her daughter-in-law Nancy Hastey Tovar.
She is survived by: her sons, Anthony Tovar (Christina), Marcelino Tovar Jr. (Mary Cruz), Michael Tovar and Mark Tovar (Marina Santos); her grandchildren, Isaiah, Seth, Noah, Ethan, Chris (Rebecca), Alec (Mary), Dominique (Jacob), Danielle (Trey), Jesse (Heather) and Alexis (Zenon); and her brothers, Abel and Pete Villalpando. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pennington Funeral Home (323 N Comanche St, San Marcos, TX 78666). A rosary was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Pennington Funeral Home (323 N Comanche St, San Marcos, TX 78666). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Pennington Funeral Home (323 N Comanche St, San Marcos, TX 78666).
