She was predeceased by : her parents, Oran Elbert and Avis Bates (Clopton); and her grandmother Jane Daughtry. She is survived by : her children, Kenny Lawson of Brownwood and Breanna Lawson of Brownwood; her siblings, Greg Cooley of San Saba, Oran Bates Jr. (Missy), Michael Bates of Spearman, Texas., Laura Bates of Brownwood, Mary Bates of Brownwood and Betty Bates of San Angelo; and her aunt Sheila Smith.
