She was predeceased by : her parents, George Brister and Jessie Brister; her husband Bill R. Herman; her grandson J. B. Prater; her siblings, Georgia Frances Brister Morris (Willard), A. J. Brister (Virginia), Eugene Brister (Phyllis), Rayford Brister (Helen) and Roy David Brister (Amelia); and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Brister and Betty Ann Brister.

She is survived by : her children, Cynthia (Ken Prater) of San Saba, Theresa Lewis of Grape Creek, TX, Bill Herman, Jr. (Alice) of Water Valley, TX and Velda Kay (Charles Tiblets) of Gordon, TX; and her brothers, Emerson Brister (Gladys) of Georgetown, TX and Jackie Brister. She is also survived by the friends of her children.
