He was predeceased by : his parents, Leighton Herman and Willie Mae Smith; his former life partner Sharon Smith; and his brother Ronald Smith. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Smith; his children, Dennis Smith (Kathy) and Kimberly Byrd (Ricky); his stepsons, Victor Seaton (Katie) and Douglas Seaton (April); his grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Eric Byrd, Emma Seaton, Declan Seaton, Trystin Seaton and Tyler Seaton; and his brothers, Brent Smith (Wanda) and Shawn Smith (Sheryl). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
