He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Koehler (DuMenil) and Bruno Koehler; his former wife Jackie; his parents-in-law, Rose, Al Hinz, Mary, Ed Haas, Wallace, Ann Koehler, Peggy Koehler and Travis Gray; and his niece Susan Koehler.

He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn Marie Louise Doerfler; his grandchildren, Nancy Koehler, Steve, Barbara Koehler, Alison, Lt. Colonel Stoney Portis, Jeff, Melissa Koehler, Ivy, Dan Meehan, Madison Koehler, Gregg, Kaye Koehler, Matt, Lacy Koehler, Jared, Cassie Koehler, Weston and Brittany Koehler; his sister-in-law Pat Gray; and his sibling's children, Lee Ann Gray, Patrick Gray, Rick Haas, Rodger Koehler, Carol Koehler, Kerry Koehler and Kevin Koehler. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
