He was predeceased by : his siblings, Herbert Schubert, Sr. (Bette), Jean Hill, Anita Tankersley (James), Shirley Shea (Dick), Shelia Holt and A. J. Schubert; and his former life partner Hazel Hancock.

He is survived by : his wife Melina Schubert; his children, Amy Geer (Michael) and Jeb Schubert (Carrie); his grandchildren, Charis, Ezra, Daniel, Elijah, Audrey, Wesley, Silas, Rayya, Nathan, Halliah, Emma, Hadassah, Ebenezer Geer, Danielle and Noelle Hansen; his brother Jim Schubert (Diane); his sister-in-law Voncille Cassady (David); and his nephew Greg Goetz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.
