It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Claude E. Fest of Seymour, Texas, born in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Nannie Elizabeth Fest and John David; his siblings, Elbert Fest, Jimmie Fest and Betty Studdard; and his sons, Eric Fest and Christopher Fest.

He is survived by : his wife Donna Huff of Seymour; his daughters, Kelly Fest of Seymour and Libby Hering (Scott) of Rockport; his grandsons, Dillon Hering of Rockport and Anthony Pappas of Seymour; and his brothers, Howard Fest (Maribeth) of Bandera and Gary Fest (Brenda) of Pipe Creek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (1025 W California St, Seymour, TX 76380). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley Boys Ranch or a favorite charity.

“Claude Fest was one of my best friends from my earliest group of friends. He was a giant of a friend physically, he was jovial, loyal, inspirational, intelligent, and a joy to know. I talked to Claude a few weeks before his passing and I planned to call him back and I got the message he had passed. I will always remember our sports efforts in our youth and that he was always better than me at nearly everything. Robert (BUZ) Busby Hope to see you up there !”
