She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Ruiz and Juana Ruiz; her daughter Nelda Zapata; and her sisters, Esperanza Ruiz and Beatrice Ruiz.

She is survived by: her daughters, Luisa Zapata, Cindy Zapata, Patsy Zapata and Joanna Zapata of Sinton; and her siblings, Joey Ruiz, Rene Ruiz of Sinton, Elodia, Lola and Diana Godines of Sinton. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
