He is survived by: his wife Linda Bayer of Southlake; his daughters, Cindy Mersch (Leo McGuire) of Springtown, Rebecca Martin (Vince) of Kailua-Kona, HI and Christy Bishop (Clay) of Matagorda; his grandchildren, Sarah Mersch (Jonathan), Erin Dowell (Justin) and Jordan Martin (Cody Meadows); and his great grandchildren, Madison, Grayson, Laken, Kameron, Jaxon and Holden.
A rosary was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carroll & Son Funeral Home (602 Lindsay St, Gainesville, TX 76240). Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home (602 Lindsay St, Gainesville, TX 76240). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Calendar Fairview Cemetery (710 Fair Ave, Gainesville, TX 76240). A reception was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at 315 W Elm St, Gainesville, TX 76240. A committal service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (710 Fair Ave, Gainesville, TX 76240).
